About Us

Mission Statement:

Provide all citizens with a personalized emergency plan and the tools necessary to survive and quickly recover from any emergency type.

In 2010, SafetyNET‘s founder Scott Baker joined several of his neighbors to host a neighborhood Block Party to celebrate Independence Day.  When the decision to create a Neighborhood Watch Program was no longer available, it was Scott’s local Police Department who recommended a program known as CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).  CERT is a First Response volunteer program consisting of dedicated members who assist Emergency Services such as Police and Fire Authorities in the event of a disaster.  Scott quickly completed each of the required CERT trainings and became a First Responder.  During his trainings Scott was introduced to and then initiated a neighborhood emergency preparedness program designed to prepare and train neighborhoods how to work together in the event of a disaster.  The program’s success made it into the local newspaper as the largest local neighborhood disaster preparedness event.  It was at this event when Scott realized what little time people spend thinking about and preparing for all emergency types and thus SafetyNET was born.

As a dedicated husband and father, Scott is passionate about spreading awareness throughout the community.  Much of Scott’s time is spent volunteering as a PTA board member for the local school, participating in Violence Prevention groups, educating businesses and their employees, speaking at community and neighborhood events, all while continuing his responsibilities as a CERT member.
